The Proposal

1. Author : Anton Chekhov (Russian playwright, master of satire & comedy)

2. Main Characters

a) Ivan Lomov – Wealthy landowner, hypochondriac, nervous , poor health

b) Stepan Chubukov – Natalya’s father, quarrelsome, greedy

c) Natalya Stepanovna – Chubukov’s daughter, argumentative, strong-willed , self - centered

3. Plot Overview

  • Lomov visits Chubukov’s house to propose marriage to Natalya.

  • Instead of proposing, they argue over Oxen Meadows (land dispute).

  • Later, they quarrel about whose dog is better (Guess vs. Squeezer).

  • Chubukov intervenes, but also joins the quarrels,supporting his daughter

  • Finally, Lomov proposes, and Natalya accepts—yet the quarrels continue.

4. Themes

  • Marriage as a social contract (not love-based, but property/status driven)

  • Trivial quarrels overshadow serious matters

  • Satire on human greed, pride, and foolishness

  • Irony – Proposal turns into endless arguments

KV BEHOLI SAMALKHA CHAPTER
After KV Loktak,Pashchim Vihar,Narela, Keshavpuram,KV (Embassy of India) Kathmandu,AFS Amla and now here at KV Bholi ,I established a Career Guidance & Counselling cell 'Samanvaya'...
Thanks to all the principals...
Covid - 19 pandemic is tough times,but stronger is the will power of the man!

Students , parents and teachers are welcome for any type of Guidance and Counselling.

SWACHHTA PAKHWADA



To foster an ethos of harmony & national integration , Students and staff of the vidyalaya observed and celebrated the Communal Harmony Week and Flag Day Celebrations on a large scale in a grand manner.

Objectives of the Week are to promote unity and live in harmony without any caste, religion, gender , race , colour or language differences & raise donations for support of children affected by violence. Also, to bring awareness  and sensitize the students about racial and cultural similarity among people of different community , a series of activities were organized by the teachers in the vidyalaya. 
During the Week long celebrations , various activities such as Painting on 19.11.2021 and 20.11.2021 , Communal Harmony Rally , Paragraph writing and declamation on 22.11.2021 , Sarv Dharm Sabha on 23.11.2021, Tree plantation drive on 24.11.2021 and Flag Day on 25.11.2021 were organized for students. To spread awareness, Communal Harmony posters were made by the student artists. Teachers have been encouraged to donate funds for National Foundation for Communal Harmony to provide financial assistance to children rendered orphan or destitute in communal, caste, ethnic or terrorist violence for their education and rehabilitation under Project ‘Assty’. 

Apart from the aforesaid activities , to spread the message of communal harmony, non violence , promote fraternity , unity in diversity , patriotism and national integration, all teachers and students took national integration oath online on 19.11.2021.

Students Deepak , Mahi Kadiyan , Ritu (class IX) , Tanish, Niyati , Ritika and Tania (class VIII) , Purvi Saini , Akshra and Aadesh (class VII) led from the front and contributed their bit in
motivating the students on the issue through the activities conducted in the vidyalaya.

I am thankful to my colleagues Mr. Devender , TGT(SSt) , Divya Sharma , PRT and Mr. Hari Om (PRT) or extending  their full support and cooperation in making the weeklong celebration a grand success.



AMLA CHAPTER
I got another posting at KV AFS Amla.A beautiful small hamlet in district Betul at Maharashtra and MP border.The moment I boarded off GT Express,it started drizzling.Perhaps,Gods were happy.The autowalas looked at me with a familiar look they have for a person visiting a place for the first time.One of them came rushing off ,lifted my bags and asked where I wanted to go.I countered how much would he charge for AFS Amla.He said saheb aap akele , so only Rs.40.If I were without luggage , I would walk but I accepted his offer.The potholes on the road towards AFS reminded me of the hard times I had spent in life and kept me awake...On reaching there I realised that there was no quarter vacant for me so I had to make my own arrangments.The principal, a young dynamic soul was kind enough to ask the MES officers to allow me to stay at the Guest house.Stay at the guest house was refreshing to the body and soul and I befriend some birds over there.The small pond inside the premises attracted me a lot.Sunil,a sub staff was a great help.He got me tiffin and made other necessary arrangments from time to time.The kids at Amla are like any other place...Kids are the same across seven seas too...innocent,lovable,a bit naughty and always ready to learn and unlearn what you want them to.





MOCK FM CHANNEL : UTILIZING LEISURE TIME IN SCHOOL






A thought was snaking into my mind as I walked through my orchid...A mongoose was shy enough to belly down on the soil and let me pass by.I asked myself whether the saints of alphabets at Kendriya Vidyalaya (Embassy of India) Kathmandu were too shy too open up their minds and hearts with the white dust wipers,the teachers...Suddenly,I realized that the mongoose was gaining the ground...was raising it's head and I could see the little whiskers and so was a thought creeping up.The teachers here are the cream and so are the students.Then where is that little barrier?The barrier which is stopping the brook from turning into a huge river!Certain things need logic to be understood but some things need emotions instead of logic to be understood and imprinted on the canvas of the soul.The dark clouds were being taken in it's bosom by the canopy of Ranibari and I had a feeling of exploring the Oasis of Education in Nepal by creating and sharing a platform for my lovely students and learned colleagues.Here we have a blog for the Citizen Saints of Educational Orchid and those who have a quest for knowing and sharing what we know,what we do not know,what we want to know and we do not want to know...Learning and Unlearning at Kathmandu valley is full of surprises...
Let me see how far the mongoose has gone and there seem to be traffic outside and people need to be more cautious about traffic rules even if it comes to a little mongoose.

Exploited by the Hidden paw
Clutched amidst rating jaw
Kept on altering masks and dress
O it was the gentle press!
Projected her on
Silver screen as well
O pitiable creature
She was in hell…
Because she was dejected and affronted
She was a yellow leaf dead
Darkness endlessly lying ahead
No air to respite her
Eyes ready to bite her
Nowhere to go
No peace wind to blow
Nowhere to walk
Nobody to talk
Women empowerment…
All tongues enchant
She is a locomotive encyclopedia
Would fetch us name and coins

Cameras lucrative but hungry
She was an actor cost free

Asked her; Are you in pain?

It was wonderful to have discussed 'What are Human Rights?' in class IX and X as we discussed art of writing a letter to the editor , speech , article on various issues and had a discussion on Right to Education which inspired the class to talk about Human Rights.
